BUtterfield 8 blends great food, fine spirits & good times in what can only be described as the quintessential New York City Restaurant & Lounge. Boasting a sophisticated, yet unassuming crowd, BUtterfield 8 is an ideal location for a business lunch, a casual after-work get-together, or a late night gathering of old and new friends. For the sports fan, large HDTV plasma screens broadcast the big games. Private parties, large groups & special events are welcome, with private dining & event space available. With its spacious bar, private lounge & separate dining area serving Contemporary American Cuisine, BUtterfield 8 is truly the place where guests can "Eat, Drink, & Lounge."
The name BUtterfield 8 was inspired by a list of old Manhattan telephone prefixes that were used to place calls in NYC up until the 1960’s (BUtterfield was the neighborhood prefix for the NYC location). Butterfield 8 was also the title of 1960 film staring Elizabeth Taylor, in which she plays a promiscuous fashion model living in Manhattan. Liz Taylor won an Academy Award for her performance in Butterfield 8. |
